A chilling message has been daubed on the gates of lotto rapist [name withheld]’s mansion warning him: “Leave or Die.”

Now security at his luxury property – already costing the taxpayer up to £30,000 a week – has been stepped up.

The sex offender, who won £7.2million in August 2004 while serving life for rape, is said to be in fear of his life.

He called police after the night raid at his £1million home near Newcastle.

Detectives are said to be taking the threats seriously – and police and probation chiefs must now decide if [name withheld], 59, will have to be moved.

He has faced abuse, vandalism, and stone-throwing since his release on licence in 2005 after serving 16 years for rape, three attempted rapes and two assaults.

Recently he told how he is constantly looking over his shoulder after once being sent two silver bullets through the post.

A neighbour said: “We’ve had lots of incidents, but nothing like this.”
