What do Hillary Clinton, ExxonMobil, BP Amoco and 150 economists have in common?
Sounds like a bad joke.
In reality, the joke's on us, the American people.
One hundred and fifty economists issued a statement expressing concerns regarding the gas tax holiday being bandied about by both John McCain and Hillary Clinton.
When pressed by George--trying-to-get-myself-back-in-America's-good-graces-- Stephanopoulos to name one economist who agreed with her idea to save Americans a few cents over the summer, the Hillary Clinton response was true to form.
"I'm not going to put my lot in with economists."
Clinton proceeded to point the finger at yet another set of so-called elites, who these days appears to be anyone with a degree that doesn't agree with her."We've been, for the last seven years, seeing a tremendous amount of government power an elite opinion basically behind policies that haven't worked well for the middle class and hard-working Americans. ... I know if we get it right, if we actually did it right, if we had a president who used all the tools of the presidency, we would design it in such a way that it would be implemented effectively."
The economists list several reasons for opposing the gas tax holiday, my favorite being that a waived gas tax would generate major profits for oil companies rather than significantly lowering prices for consumers.
Out of our wallets, right into their pockets...and the pocketbook of HRC, oil company stockholder.
No one's asking, so this Frog is telling.
Hillary Clinton carries stock in both ExxonMobil and BP Amoco.
Just check out her personal financial disclosure.

I'd love to hear Hillary's justification of this obvious disconnect.
But she'd much rather pump us up at the pump with her do anything, say anything campaign rhetoric of the day.
Indiana and North Carolina can symbolically end this Tuesday.
Note the use of the word symbolically. Even if trounced, this woman will stick around like a bad cold.
After all, it's all about her.
It always has been.
