Think Before You Post

Learned in the recent past the real reason MySpace is so quick to work with LE.

Media whore Rupert Murdoch--having bought Tom out a few years back--is LE friendly as well as super-skittish about subpoenas. Additionally, one of the assistant directors of MySpace is an former U.S. District Attorney.

Facebook? Not so LE friendly; therefore, not too many SO-related media stories.

So goes the slant.

Consider carefully any media blitz shared between a MySpace-law enforcement partnership as most recently evidenced by the 90,000 sex offenders "booted" from MySpace story.

Also, regarding photos posted online. Cyberstalking and cyberbullying--the number one online problem kids face as stated by the Berkman report Enhancing Child Safety and Online Technologies-- is just one part of the pic, forgive the pun.

Cyber law enforcers often peruse profiles posted online to gain information from the pics posted (tattoos, piercings, etc) previous to any interrogation of a Citizen of Interest.

Best practice?

Set your profiles to private. And get your "friends" to do the same.

Think before you post.
