Watching and Waiting

When a child disappears, the first wave of investigation begins on the doorstep of sex offenders living in the immediate area.

In the case of missing Florida five-year-old Haleigh Cummings, "law officers have verified the whereabouts of some of those 44 and eliminated them as being involved in the case of the missing girl."

I'll ask an obvious question.

How many of the 44 are listed for the same relationship playing out before the public?

Haleigh's father is 24 and his girlfriend, 17 years of age.

The relationship--if depicted accurately by the press (and that's one big if)--is considered a sex offense in Florida. A conviction has landed many a Floridian (male and female) on the Florida Sex Offender Registry.

My point being....

The registry is crammed with persons--both male and female--who have committed similar "sex offenses". As this Frog has always stated, not only do these type of listed low-level "offenders" hide the faces of the truly dangerous, manpower that might have better been utilized to assist in finding the child was spent knocking on doors.

My thoughts are with the family in hopes the child will return home safe and sound.
